Venice Design Week is a festival featuring a week-long series of exhibitions, events and activities that seeks to promote and celebrate design heritage and contemporary design scene. It is platform of creativity. Venice Design Week will return to venues and institutions across the city of Venice Italy.
The Venice Design Week was conceived by Lisa Balasso in 2010. Building on Venice’s existing craft and design activity, her concept was to create an annual event that would promote creativity from all over the world, calling designers, thinkers, practitioners, retailers and educators. Government of Venice and the Regione Veneto give their patronage to the VDW for its strong vision to connect history and contemporary Design.
Tempora is the theme of Venice Design Week 2025—a vision linking past and future, where design connects cultures, times, and knowledge. It’s a fluid, vibrant thread shaped by diverse energies and paradigms. Design emerges from a collective, inclusive process that blends disciplines and fosters collaboration. Tempora invites reflection on each object’s role in an evolving story—where ethics, sustainability, and aesthetics unite to enrich human experience in a world of constant change.
